a substance made from Erythrophyleum guineensis used by the Grebo Mask to determine weather one was guilty or not. A similar trial by ordeal was employed by other ethnic groups like Lorma, Kpelle, Gbandi, Kissi and Gola in 18th century Grain Coast. The practice continued after Liberia was established.
